Under Siege

By Melvin Nicholson LRPS

This is a side of Iceland that few people photograph. Geothermal power stations. I love them. You cannot beat photographing a bit of industrial landscape and Iceland is a fantastic place to capture such subjects. This shot was taken on a cold March afternoon on the Reykjanes Peninsula. The weather was incredible with amazing stormy skies and some utterly gorgeous light showing through. Both the lighthouse and the power station look under siege from the stormy sky.
